Primrose Cottage sits in the beautiful Victorian seaside town of Ventnor on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. Decorated and furnished to a high standard, it's set in a quiet road just minutes' walk from town, a few minutes' drive from the rolling downs and within easy reach of the island's many attractions.
With two bedrooms and two double beds, it's ideal for a couple, a family of four or four adults. Pour yourself a glass of wine, take a deep breath and relax. If you've never been to the Isle of Wight before, a stay here will start a love affair with the island that never goes away.

Ventnor & the Isle of Wight
A quiet, traditional seaside resort on the island's south coast, Ventnor was one of Britain's most famous Victorian health resorts thanks to its unique micro-climate. The town tumbles down the side of St Boniface Down, the island's highest point, to the seafront, where the promenade still keeps that Victorian stroll feeling. There are two supermarkets in town, plus those rare-to-find local butchers and greengrocers if you're self-catering.
You'll be spoilt for choice: locally caught lobster and crab, the daily fish catch, and every taste catered for. In Ventnor the range is so wide you won't need to go anywhere else.

Beach & promenade
Ventnor's award-winning beach is a few minutes' walk away. Follow the sea wall from Wheelers Bay for a lovely stroll to the waterfront cafés.
Bonchurch
A delightful village within walking distance along the coast. Expect plenty of steps and steep hills: the island's south coast is made for walkers.
St Boniface Down
The island's highest point rises right behind the town. The rolling downs are just a few minutes' drive away.
The Needles
A guest tip: skip the chairlift and walk (or take the bus) to the end of the headland. The view from the viewing point is by far the best.

Ventnor is about 35 minutes' drive from the Wightlink Fishbourne car ferry, and 40 minutes from Wightlink Yarmouth and Red Funnel Cowes.

Foot passengers
- Wightlink FastCat: Portsmouth Harbour (railway & coach station) to Ryde Pier Head

- Hovertravel: Southsea (bus link from Portsmouth & Southsea station) to Ryde
Train & bus
Island Line trains run from Ryde Pier Head (for FastCat) or Ryde Esplanade (for Hovertravel) to Shanklin, then take the No. 3 bus from Shanklin to Ventnor.
